In response to a wave of criticism and public unease surrounding its application of generative AI, Level-5 has issued a comprehensive statement. This move indicates the company's acknowledgment of the significant backlash it has faced from the gaming community.
The developer explicitly confirmed that its highly anticipated title, Professor Layton and The New World of Steam, will not incorporate AI. However, a similar assurance has not yet been provided for the upcoming remake of Professor Layton and the Curious Village, leaving fans to ponder the implications.

Ultimately, Level-5 expressed regret for its "careless" approach to AI use in previous demonstrations, recognizing that these instances contributed to audience mistrust. The studio committed to limiting AI's role to internal efficiency enhancements and pledged to refrain from directly employing it in any content delivered to its audience.
Level-5's official apology reiterated their commitment to rebuilding trust, stating, "Once again, we deeply apologize for causing distrust due to the immaturity of our AI utilization... We will take even greater care in creating and releasing materials to avoid any misunderstandings." They further assured stakeholders that future AI application would be strictly confined to improving operational efficiency, with no direct involvement in user-facing video content.
This public address from Level-5 sparks an important conversation within the gaming industry and among its player base about the ethical considerations and appropriate boundaries for AI in creative fields. The company's actions reflect an evolving landscape where transparency and user confidence are paramoun
