Mira Mikati, celebrated for her wanderlust-inspired designs, unveils her Spring 2027 collection, a vibrant homage to an ideal escape. The collection, dubbed 'Hôtel des Rêves,' embodies a universal desire for sun-drenched destinations, positive news, leisurely breakfasts, and an endless stay without the typical travel inconveniences. This imaginative hotel concept translates into apparel that radiates optimism and the carefree spirit of a perpetual holiday.
The collection showcases Mikati's distinctive aesthetic with hand-embroidered elements and cheerful motifs. Garments feature rainbow designs, blooming flowers, and playful details such as hotel badges and souvenir stickers. A standout piece includes a blue striped button-down paired with a tan denim skirt, while a parasol-striped cardigan playfully displays 'late checkout' over a stack of luggage. The collaboration with Japanese artist Masakatsu Iwamoto, also known as Mr., returns, incorporating his Superflat characters into pockets, tees, totes, and hand-crocheted charms, adding a whimsical touch to the designs. Mikati's commitment to craftsmanship is evident in a bright blue coat adorned with hand-appliquéd daisies, and a charming cream knit bustier and dress featuring flowers emerging from the hemlines. A straw-colored jacket is enhanced with beaded buttons, and a sundress with a knit bodice and cotton poplin skirt offers versatile summer wear. Wooden beads serve as intriguing accents, appearing as brooches, on trouser drawstrings, and as colorful charm embellishments.
While the collection's imagery was captured at La Bionda on Spain's Costa Brava, Mikati is also busy expanding her brand's physical presence. She teased the upcoming opening of her long-awaited Paris boutique, set to coincide with the next Paris Fashion Week. Additionally, a new store will launch next month at the Royal Poinciana Plaza in Palm Beach, marking a significant entry into the US market. Mikati describes this venture as a 'small store with big dreams,' emphasizing simplicity, given the already vibrant nature of her clothing. This expansion introduces Mikati's American 'boutique des rêves' to a new audience.
Through her latest collection and strategic global expansion, Mira Mikati champions a philosophy of joy, creativity, and the pursuit of dreams. Her designs serve as a colorful reminder to embrace life's lighter side and to seek out moments of happiness and inspiration, encouraging a positive and forward-looking perspective in fashion and beyond.
