The collaboration between Sister Group and Common Interest, a communications and entertainment entity founded by Anthony Freedman, is poised to integrate brand innovation, superior entertainment production, and unparalleled access to top-tier creative talent. This synergy is expected to redefine how brands interact with the entertainment landscape.
Both organizations are already actively engaged in joint ventures, with a clear objective to cultivate a portfolio of projects that seamlessly incorporate brand partners from the earliest stages of development. This forward-thinking approach aims to create content that resonates deeply with audiences while delivering brand messages organically.
Established in September 2023, Common Interest has swiftly evolved into a multifaceted group encompassing brand experiences, entertainment-driven communications, cultural insights, and intellectual property development. Its eight constituent companies—21st Century Brand, Amplify, Baby Teeth, CultureLab, Knock Three Times, Otherway, Seed, and Wonder—each contribute unique expertise. Notably, Baby Teeth recently produced “Finding Jamie,” a micro-drama series for the Jamie Oliver Group, showcasing its prowess in developing entertainment for brands and talent.
Elisabeth Murdoch and Jane Featherstone expressed a strong cultural and creative alignment with Anthony Freedman and his talented team at Common Interest. They highlighted Common Interest's dedication to entertainment and brand strategies that genuinely captivate audiences, mirroring Sister Group's core values of creative excellence, originality, and bold risk-taking. This shared philosophy underscores a partnership that is not merely contractual but deeply collaborative, already yielding promising ideas.

Brands are increasingly being invited into the creative process from the initial development phases, reflecting a growing audience appetite for brand-led content across diverse formats. This shift represents a mutual recognition of needs, where advertising seeks novel audience engagement methods, and entertainment embraces brands as authentic creative collaborators.
Anthony Freedman, Founder and CEO of Common Interest, articulated that modern advertising is constantly seeking innovative ways to connect with audiences, while the entertainment sector has never been more receptive to partnering with brands as genuine creative forces. He emphasized that each industry possesses what the other needs, a dynamic already evident in successful collaborations like "Barbie," "LEGO," and Kraft Heinz's partnership with Disney. Freedman views this alliance as a profound commitment from both parties to demonstrate that brands can actively shape entertainment without compromising audience enjoyment.
The Sister Group's extensive portfolio spans various creative domains, including TV and film (Sister Pictures, Dorothy St Pictures, Yes Yes Media, Locksmith Animation, South of the River, Unanimous Media), podcasting (Campside Media), publishing (Zando, AWA), music and live experiences (KOKO), and digital-first production (After Party Studios). The group recently announced a collaboration with journalist and broadcaster Amol Rajan to produce and distribute his new Creator Economy venture, further diversifying its reach and impact.
The intricacies of the deal with Common Interest were expertly managed by Chris Fry, COO and CFO of Sister Group, and Deepa Shah, Common Interest Group's chief financial and operating officer, ensuring a seamless and strategically sound integration of the two entitie
